Role Overview

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping environment. Key duties include greeting customers warmly with eye contact and a smile, assisting with merchandise, maintaining clean and organized store areas, and following company protocols for safety and merchandise presentation. Associates are expected to be actively engaged in all tasks during their shifts and may be assigned to various store sections as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety above all else, consistently exhibiting cautious behaviors and maintaining safe conditions on the sales floor with clear pathways to emergency exits.
• Show respect and professionalism toward both customers and colleagues, including participation in company recognition programs.
• Provide prompt customer assistance encompassing register operation, answering queries competently, and delivering courteous greetings and farewells.
• Address customer service calls swiftly and escalate issues to store leadership when necessary.
• Support the company brand through exemplary conduct and representation.
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, restocking restroom supplies, and sanitizing high-touch areas across the store.
• Maintain dress code compliance and professional appearance at all times.
• Execute daily tasks related to product sizing, recovery, and merchandise presentation to uphold a neat, inviting store environment.
• Efficiently move newly received merchandise to the sales floor, arranging items in accordance with monthly presentation standards and maintaining department familiarity.
• Understand and adhere to loss prevention policies including shortage tracking, store protection roles, and merchandise safeguarding.
• Handle confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise responsibly with honesty and integrity.
• Follow company policies on handling mark-out-of-stock items, cash transactions, refunds, voids, and offline procedures with care and accuracy.
• Demonstrate urgency and efficiency in workflow to maximize productivity and minimize unnecessary steps.

Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull weights over 25 pounds.
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.
• Spending up to 100% of the working time standing, walking, and moving throughout the store.
• Competence in operating store equipment such as PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Ability to use janitorial and store equipment including rolling racks and ladders.
• Stockroom shift workers must regularly lift or move weights exceeding 20 pounds.
