Early Morning Stock Associate

Overview

The Retail Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring customers experience a positive shopping environment. They provide welcoming greetings, treat colleagues respectfully, maintain cleanliness and merchandise presentation, and perform assigned duties throughout the store as needs arise. Additional tasks may be given to support customer service and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all actions and maintain a secure sales floor environment with clear emergency exits and immediate reporting of hazards.
• Respect and courteously engage both customers and coworkers, fostering a professional and friendly atmosphere.
• Assist customers effectively, including operating the register, providing merchandise help, and answering inquiries politely.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues, escalating to leadership when necessary.
• Uphold the company brand standards at all times.
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, counter and mirror wiping, replenishing restroom supplies, and sanitizing high-contact areas on the sales floor and front end.
• Maintain a neat professional appearance consistent with company dress code.
• Conduct daily sizing and recovery activities per company guidelines to keep the store orderly and well merchandised.
• Quickly move newly received merchandise to the sales floor and arrange items according to monthly presentation standards, demonstrating product knowledge.
• Understand and follow loss prevention procedures and merchandise protection policies.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity when handling cash, credit card transactions, and confidential information.
• Follow mark-out-of-stock policies accurately and notify leadership for disposal approvals.
• Adhere to all cash handling and transaction procedures, maintaining high accuracy with bankable tenders.
• Show urgency in task execution to maximize productivity and follow store best practices efficiently.

Qualifications

• Clear, respectful communication skills with customers, associates, and leadership.
• Basic math skills commonly required in retail operations.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling over 25 pounds.
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, carrying, and stooping.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for up to 100% of the shift.
• Proficiency in using store equipment such as PDTs, cash registers, PCs, janitorial tools, rolling racks, and ladders.
• Stockroom shift associates must regularly lift, push, or pull more than 20 pounds.
