Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Duty Manager for the Premier Inn located at Barry Island (Cardiff Airport), working a guaranteed 35 hours per week with an hourly rate up to A313.86. This full-time, permanent position requires hands-on leadership to ensure smooth hotel operations across all departments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead hotel shifts by delivering clear, effective pre-shift briefings
- Provide continual support and coaching to staff members throughout your shift
- Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction
- Actively assist different teams including reception, housekeeping, and the restaurant during busy periods
- Identify potential problems early and implement corrective actions swiftly
- Ensure guest safety and maintain efficient hotel operations
- Collaborate closely with the Hotel Manager and broader leadership team
Candidate Profile and Experience
While previous hotel experience is not mandatory, this role suits candidates who have managed teams in busy, customer-facing environments such as retail, restaurants, healthcare, or leisure. Roles like Team Leader, Supervisor, Shift Manager, or Assistant Manager are relevant backgrounds. Confidence in decision-making, a passion for helping others, and remaining composed under pressure are essential qualities.
