Job Overview

The role of Dryer Operator, Laundry, is vital within our laundry team. This position involves the efficient and skilled operation of commercial drying machinery to process various laundry items, such as terry cloth and multiple fabric types. Close attention to drying cycles, routine equipment upkeep, and maintaining stringent quality standards are essential. The Dryer Operator reports to the Team Leader, Laundry, and collaborates closely with teammates to ensure smooth workflow.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate commercial drying units with correct settings and load sizes optimized for different textiles.
• Monitor drying processes consistently to guarantee thorough drying and adherence to moisture specifications while inspecting for quality and cleanliness.
• Safely load and unload laundry items, managing weight loads up to 50 pounds without damage.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning lint filters and inspecting vents, and promptly report any mechanical faults to maintenance or supervisors.
• Administer precise quantities of cleaning agents during drying to ensure fabric safety and effectiveness.
• Adjust drying parameters according to fabric type and load size to improve energy efficiency and drying quality.
• Comply strictly with safety guidelines, employing personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling practices to maintain a secure work environment.
• Keep detailed records of drying cycles, including load information and encountered issues to track and enhance operations.
• Coordinate with washers, sorters, and attendants to maintain an efficient laundry process flow and communicate effectively within the team.
• Meet or exceed customer drying expectations and follow any special handling instructions.
• Adhere to Lost and Found protocols, securely documenting and managing any discovered items and escalating as necessary.
• Support additional laundry tasks such as washing, sorting, folding, and packaging during busy periods.
• Assist in onboarding and training new team members; participate actively in continuous training and team meetings.
• Maintain professional conduct, communicating respectfully with clients and colleagues.
• Serve as a key runner supporting valet and commercial laundry teams.
• Report incidents and guest feedback promptly to management.
• Execute daily duties to meet high laundry service standards.
• Cultivate positive working relationships and foster a constructive work atmosphere.
• Exhibit flexibility with working hours to accommodate operational needs, including willingness to work extra shifts as directed.
