Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced DP Mathematics Teacher specializing in Applications and Interpretation to join our team. The successful candidate will teach IB Mathematics at Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL) at the Diploma Programme stage and, where scheduled, instruct Middle Years Programme (MYP) Mathematics. The role involves promoting mathematical understanding as an applied tool to solve real-world problems and ensuring adherence to IB curriculum and evaluation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering high-quality DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons aligned with the IB curriculum and examination criteria.
• Enhancing students' mathematical reasoning, modeling abilities, statistical understanding, and skillful use of technology such as graphing display calculators (GDC) and mathematical software.
• Overseeing the Internal Assessment process, especially the Mathematical Exploration component, by guiding and providing constructive feedback to students.
• Preparing students strategically for IB external examinations through data-driven and rigorous teaching techniques.
• Differentiating instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs, including those with additional educational requirements or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
• Contributing actively to the Mathematics department and participating in broader school community activities.

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

• Possession of a recognized teaching qualification and an academic degree in Mathematics or a closely associated field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme Mathematics, preferentially in Applications and Interpretation.
• Understanding of IB Diploma assessment processes, including Internal Assessments and exam preparation demands.
• Proficiency in utilizing GDC, mathematical software, and educational technology to enhance student learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication capabilities, along with effective strategies to differentiate learning.
• A firm commitment to safeguarding and enhancing student welfare.
• Additional training in IB DP Mathematics workshops and experience in international school settings are desirable.
• Eligibility to obtain a work visa for Qatar.
