About the Role

John Sisk & Son Ltd is a family-owned global construction and engineering firm dedicated to creating infrastructure that impacts how communities live and connect. This full-time, onsite Document Controller position in Dublin involves management of the project Document Management System and digital tools following ISO and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all project documentation, ensuring accurate receipt, classification, verification, registration, distribution, and easy retrieval according to company and ISO 19650 / BS 1192 / PAS 1192 standards.
  • Maintain central site documentation files, including uncontrolled drawings and key files for Operation & Maintenance, Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental compliance, and BCAR.
  • Implement change control measures within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Prepare distribution matrices, status reports, and workflow documentation for sample submissions, TQs, RFIs, and other project-related data as per project needs.
  • Participate in project meetings to support documentation and information management discussions with stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify improvements to reduce waste and risks in document management processes.
  • Provide cover for other Document Controllers during absences.
  • Support compliance with Digital Project Delivery (DPD) procedures and company-wide standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for new users on digital field tools such as VFP and FV both one-on-one and group formats.
  • Serve as the primary contact for user support and coaching, including clients, design teams, subcontractors, and supply chain.
  • Assist in developing project file naming conventions and workflows in coordination with the Information Systems Manager.
  • Consistently guide project teams to adhere strictly to DPD protocols.

Requirements

  • Experience handling large data volumes from diverse sources within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong communication skills for educating stakeholders on DPD protocols.
  • Comfort and experience working with design teams, clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
  • Motivation and ability to train and mentor colleagues.
  • Familiarity with file naming conventions and standards relevant to construction documentation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Strong analytical mindset with diligence and self-motivation.
  • Proficiency in document preparation, formatting, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: interest or experience in construction project delivery processes and infrastructure projects.
  • Essential qualifications include advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite and understanding of ISO 19650, BS 1192, PAS 1192 standards.
  • Desirable skills include experience in configuring systems compliant with ISO 19650 and advanced use of digital field management tools like Field View or Dalux.
