About the Role
As a Dispenser at our pharmacy, you play a vital part in supporting the pharmacist and healthcare team to ensure safe and effective pharmacy services. You will interact with patients, dispense prescriptions, and assist with the responsible sale of medicines, using your healthcare knowledge to guide customers toward informed health decisions.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescriptions, manage medicine ordering, labeling, endorsement, and prescription collections.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to assist in delivering and managing pharmacy services within the store.
- Provide medicines-related advice to patients and refer complex queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safe, compliant dispensing practices.
- Stay informed on new innovations and operational processes implemented in the store.
- Help patients manage their medicines effectively, promoting adherence and minimizing waste.
- Utilize evolving in-store technology to improve dispensing procedures and increase time spent supporting patients.
Requirements
- Completed NVQ2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification or currently pursuing with at least one year completed in an MPharm degree program.
- Hold valid right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Experience in community pharmacy is beneficial but not mandatory.
Additional Information
This position is based in the UK and not open to remote applicants or those without the appropriate UK qualifications and legal work permissions. Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment background checks relevant to their location (DBS, PVG, or Access NI).
