About the Role

As a Dispenser within one of our stores, you will play a crucial role in the pharmacy team, assisting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the effective and safe delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services to customers. This position is based physically in the store; remote applications or candidates without UK work eligibility will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately and ensure the safe provision of medicines by ordering, labelling, endorsing, and managing prescription collections.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare staff to support the management and delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Offer advice and care to patients regarding medication and refer complex queries to the pharmacist.
  • Follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safe and legal dispensing practices.
  • Stay informed about innovations and comply with operational procedures within the store.
  • Assist patients in managing their prescriptions effectively through repeat prescriptions and medication management to improve adherence and minimize waste.
  • Engage with evolving in-store technologies to advance dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety and allowing more time for patient interaction.

Training and Development

Regular updates and training opportunities will be provided to enhance your healthcare knowledge. There are clear career progression pathways available, including training to become a Pharmacy Technician or advancing into store leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 qualification or an equivalent; alternatively, candidates currently pursuing an MPharm and having completed the first year are also eligible.
  • Possession of a valid UK right to work is mandatory, as sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this role.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working in a community pharmacy setting is advantageous.

Employee Benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment.
  • Generous staff discounts on products.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave pay, plus gift cards for new or adopting parents.
  • Flexible benefits scheme tailored to individual needs.
  • Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program offering confidential counselling and support.

Additional benefits provide flexibility and further reward options compatible with the employee's lifestyle.
