Job description

Role Overview

As a Dispenser at Boots in Warrington, you will be a vital part of the pharmacy team, assisting pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective provision of pharmacy and healthcare services. The role focuses on supporting patients by dispensing prescriptions and offering expert advice to promote their health and wellbeing.

Key Duties

  • Dispensing prescriptions while ensuring medicines are supplied safely, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and facilitating prescription collection.
  • Collaborating with store healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Providing medicine-related advice to patients and directing complex queries to the Pharmacist.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain legal and safe dispensing practices.
  • Keeping current with operational procedures and new pharmacy innovations in-store.
  • Helping patients manage their prescriptions through reliable repeat systems to improve adherence and minimize medication waste.

You will also work with advanced dispensing technologies and updated systems designed to enhance patient safety and allow more patient-focused time.

Qualifications & Eligibility

  • Have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent certification, or be in the process of an MPharm qualification (having completed the first year).
  • Hold valid UK work authorization; this position does not offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.
