Job Overview and Work Hours
This full-time dishwasher role involves maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen area while supporting food preparation and banquet setups. Business hours vary throughout the week from as early as 9 AM to as late as 2 AM, covering seven days of operation.
Primary Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or manually by hand.
- Organize and place cleaned dishes, cooking utensils, and equipment in designated storage locations.
- Maintain kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
- Assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking or serving.
- Stock supplies such as food items or utensils in serving stations, refrigerators, cupboards, or salad bars.
- Set up tables for banquets and events.
- Sweep and scrub kitchen floors to uphold cleanliness.
- Clean garbage containers using water or steam as needed.
- Sort trash and relocate it to the designated pickup areas.
- Transport supplies or equipment between storage and work areas manually or by using hand trucks.
- Receive and store incoming supplies appropriately.
- Prepare and package individual table place settings.
- Attend assigned in-service training and educational sessions.
- Adhere strictly to uniform, grooming, safety, and sanitation policies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Provide training and guidance to newly hired employees.
- Complete other tasks as required by management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in spoken and understood English.
- Good auditory and visual acuity to perform job functions effectively.
- Organizational abilities to maintain order and cleanliness.
- Competent and safe operation of kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef’s knives.
