Dishwasher - Full Time

Overview

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is seeking immediate full-time Dishwasher team members to work at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, located at 1725 State Street, La Crosse, WI 54601. Applicants should note that applications are accepted online only.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The full-time schedule varies, generally covering shifts from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with specific details provided during the interview process. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $17.55 per hour.

Role Summary

The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly fashion, ensuring safe and efficient kitchen operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food debris from dishes, then wash them manually or via dishwashing equipment to ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean pots, pans, and trays following set procedures to maintain sanitation standards.
• Polish silverware using various equipment such as burnishing tumblers, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or hand cloths depending on protocol.
• Strictly adhere to all outlined safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor and maintain required temperatures and chemical levels per established standards.
• Keep dishwashing areas organized and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to meet safety and hygiene requirements.
• Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces thoroughly.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash, including steam cleaning or hosing out garbage containers.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work zones as needed.
• Assist with loading and unloading of supplies and products.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Preferred Experience

Previous dishwashing experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
