About the Role and Location

This dishwasher position is based at Tennessee Tech University, located at 1000 N. Dixie Ave., Cookeville, TN 38505. This role is open for both full-time and part-time schedules, with specific timings to be discussed during the interview process.

Position Summary

As a dishwasher, your primary responsibility will be to maintain dishes, cookware, trays, kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove food remnants by scraping and rinsing dishes, and clean them either manually or using dishwashing machines following the designated equipment and procedures.
  • Clean pots, pans, and trays thoroughly ensuring sanitation and hygiene.
  • Polish silverware using different methods such as burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or hand polishing in line with assigned protocols.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines at all times within the work area.
  • Monitor and maintain proper temperature and chemical levels according to operational standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in dishwashing and kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors to meet safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces regularly.
  • Dispose of trash properly by placing it in designated bins and cleaning garbage cans with steam cleaning or hosing methods.
  • Assist in moving supplies and equipment between storage and work areas as needed.
  • Support loading and unloading of supplies and materials.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided to successful candidates.

Compensation and Work Conditions

  • Hourly wage ranges from $14.50 to $15.50.
