Role Overview
As a Dishwasher, you will be an integral part of the Kitchen Team, responsible for sustaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, dishes, and utensils. This role involves assistance with food preparation and cross-training across kitchen departments, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work atmosphere.
Principal Duties
- Scrape and pre-rinse food debris from soiled dishes, then load them into the dishwashing machine (approximately 50% of tasks).
- Wash pots, pans, and trays manually or via machine washing methods (about 15%).
- Perform preparatory kitchen tasks as assigned (around 10%).
- Dispose of trash by transferring garbage to the dumpster area (near 10%).
- Clean work area surfaces including tables, walls, refrigerator units, cooking equipment, and floors (about 5%).
- Sanitize garbage cans and trash bins (approximately 5%).
- Set up, maintain, and take apart dishwashing machinery (circa 5%).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Motivation to care for others with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to carry cases weighing up to 50 pounds up to 20 times daily.
- Capable of placing items such as plates, utensils, and pans on various shelf heights.
- Work assignments primarily indoors (90%) with occasional outdoor duties (10%).
- Adept in working within environments that can be hot and humid.
- Preparedness to react appropriately in emergency situations ensuring personal and team safety.
Physical Demands
- Navigate restaurant areas and communicate effectively with guests and team.
- Handle and move items up to five pounds regularly.
- Occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Perform bending and stooping motions throughout shifts.
- Possess sufficient vision to assess cleanliness standards and operate touchscreen devices.
