Role Overview

As a Dishwasher (Kitchen Team Member), you play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all restaurant areas. Your efforts ensure spotless dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and glasses, allowing the kitchen and dining experience to run flawlessly. This fast-paced, high-volume job supports every part of the restaurant and is essential to the team’s success.

Core Duties

  • Scrape, scrub, spray, wash, and sanitize all kitchenware including pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils, which comprises about 70% of the work.
  • Perform assigned food prep work accurately according to recipes (5%).
  • Set up your workstation efficiently before your shift (5%).
  • Observe sanitary and safe food handling practices at all times (5%).
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas before, during, and after shifts (5%).
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning projects as assigned (5%).
  • Assist with unpacking and storing deliveries (5%).

Qualifications and Abilities

  • Positive attitude coupled with eagerness to learn and develop skills.
  • Physical ability to place items on both high and low shelves.
  • Competency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Capability to follow recipes precisely.
  • Ability to work quickly, safely, and accurately for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and efficiency under fast-paced, stressful conditions.
  • Willingness to assist with maintenance, prep cooking, and other line station duties as needed.
  • Experience or ability to handle knives, slicing tools, and other food prep equipment.
  • Full shift mobility required.
  • Capacity to lift and carry cases weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times daily.
  • Responsiveness in emergency situations to protect self and others.

Physical Requirements

This position requires consistent movement throughout the restaurant, communication with guests, handling of items up to 5 pounds regularly, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending or stooping. Adequate vision is necessary for assessing cleanliness and operating equipment such as touchscreens. Reasonable accommodations are available for those with disabilities.
