Director/VP of Engineering

About the Role

We are partnering with one of Australia's rapidly expanding consumer technology firms to find a Director of Engineering based in Sydney. The engineering division has quickly grown to roughly 40 members and requires a strong leader to guide its next phase — strengthening management capabilities, enhancing team workflows, and implementing appropriate structure that maintains agility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture an engineering organization of approximately 40 staff.
• Develop and mentor Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders.
• Enhance delivery processes, software development life cycle (SDLC), quality assurance, system reliability, and overall engineering productivity.
• Champion the pragmatic integration of AI and agentic engineering methods.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams on high-traffic consumer and marketplace solutions.

Requirements & Ideal Profile

The role is perfect for current Senior Engineering Managers, Heads of Engineering, or Directors who oversee multiple teams and managers and are eager to take on full engineering function leadership.
