Key Responsibilities

• Foster an AI-driven team culture where engineers actively use AI tools to enhance research, development, and daily tasks.
• Promote AI-assisted coding practices such as AI coding assistants to speed up development, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and infrastructure teams to automate routine operational work including monitoring, alerting, and on-call procedures.
• Define and champion the strategic vision focused on AI integration, customer success, feature delivery, service ownership, and scalability of the platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on distributed systems, Big Data compute, and storage technologies.
• Build and lead teams to design, implement, and maintain large-scale, reliable, and secure big data services across multiple environments including internal data centers and public cloud providers.
• Drive execution through collaboration with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.
• Establish and enhance engineering best practices, including CI/CD pipelines and quality assurance tools.
• Mentor and coach team members for continuous professional growth and technical excellence.
• Lead with empathy to support employee wellbeing and foster a positive team environment.
• Recruit, attract, and retain top technical talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education.
• Over 12 years of software development experience including at least 3 years in engineering leadership or management roles.
• Proven ability to recruit and develop high-performance engineering teams.
• Strong background with distributed systems and NoSQL databases, as well as big data processing methodologies.
• Experience managing large-scale services on cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Familiarity with Big Data open source technologies such as Phoenix, HBase, Hadoop, Kafka, MongoDB, Spark, Presto, Hive, and Airflow.
• Demonstrated capability in mentorship, technical guidance, and leadership.
• Customer-focused mindset combined with a passion for service ownership and establishing service level objectives/agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
