Job description

About Neara

Neara is pioneering the creation of physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids using cutting-edge machine learning technologies. These digital simulations enable asset owners across four continents to stress-test infrastructure against extreme weather events like hurricanes and thunderstorms before they occur. By empowering utilities to identify risks and optimize investments, Neara is driving a more resilient global energy future.

Role Overview

We are expanding our European operations and establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) to uphold high standards in managing complex software delivery projects. The Director, PMO will lead this newly formed team, owning crucial functions around project governance, customer success teams training, and ensuring alignment between customer value, product solutions, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full lifecycle delivery of multiple sophisticated enterprise software engagements, from initiation through go-live and handover phases.
  • Establish and promote rigorous project management standards, setting excellence benchmarks for all implementations.
  • Maintain precise and current documentation of project statuses, risks, milestones, and value realization, integrating insights into team meetings and senior dashboards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks and impediments by collaborating across Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Customer Success and wider team to enhance PMO tools, templates, and reporting systems.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts and project scopes with Product and Engineering to ensure appropriate resource allocation and configuration for success.
  • Design and administer onboarding and continuous education programs for the Customer Success team.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • At least five years’ experience in Customer Success, Professional Services, or within a PMO environment, with a strong record managing complex software implementations or large transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated capability to apply and improve project management processes rather than relying solely on existing frameworks.
  • Adept at adjusting between structured methodologies and flexible problem-solving in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convert complex project updates and risks into clear executive summaries.
  • Proficiency developing automated reporting, dashboards, and tracking tools; experience with project management platforms such as Fibery, Jira, or Asana.
  • Experience in infrastructure projects, especially energy-related, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Fluent English required; additional European language skills preferred.

What the Role Offers

  • Opportunity to build and lead Neara’s inaugural PMO function, managing critical customer projects and shaping scaling standards for customer success operations.
  • Strategic position within European operations, integral to the company's substantial growth and business autonomy in this market.
  • Engagement with impactful technology contributing to the safeguarding of global energy grids against increasingly prevalent climate challenges.
  • A culture of collaboration and accessibility, offering strategic influence alongside collective mission alignment with engineering and leadership.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is £100,000 to £110,000 per year.
