Job description

About Neara

Neara leverages cutting-edge machine learning to develop highly accurate, physics-informed digital replicas of electricity grids spanning four continents. Our technology allows utility companies to simulate extreme weather impacts and structural stress across vast infrastructure networks, enabling them to identify risks, optimize investments, and enhance resilience worldwide.

Our team consists of passionate innovators dedicated to delivering real-world impact by combining AI and machine learning to improve from data classification to complex scenario modeling. We foster a culture of owner-driven innovation and are eager to expand this mission globally.

Role Overview

We are hiring a motivated and strategic commercial leader in Europe to lead our key account growth initiatives. This hands-on role combines direct account management with coaching responsibilities, focusing on expanding relationships and mentoring the customer-facing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and nurture relationships with a portfolio of Neara’s most important strategic accounts, acting as the principal executive liaison.
  • Formulate and implement growth strategies for assigned accounts to meet business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Guide team members on account planning, executive interactions, and execution of complex multi-year contracts.
  • Spot new operational improvements and use cases, elevating the overall commercial expertise of the customer-facing team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Success Operations, Customer Value Architects, and Product to align overall account strategies and executions.
  • Establish scalable processes to grow the Key Account Management function as Neara expands in Europe.
  • Represent Neara alongside utilities at major European conferences and events, enhancing brand visibility.
  • Deliver regular performance, pipeline, and growth opportunity reports to senior leadership.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in managing and growing enterprise accounts within complex technical or SaaS sectors, ideally in roles such as Director of Key Accounts, Key Account Manager, Director of Sales, or Client Partner.
  • Relevant experience or background in the utilities sector or similarly complex industries involving technical infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience with Account Managers or Customer Success Managers, especially in a player-coach role.
  • Background in strategic sales, management consulting, or technology-enabled enterprise environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate executive stakeholder dynamics and promote a customer-centric internal culture.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.

Compensation and Culture

  • Competitive base salary coupled with commission incentives, with total compensation ranging between £110,000 and £120,000 annually.
  • Ample opportunities for professional growth and advancement in a fast-growing, merit-based organization.
  • A work environment characterized by low bureaucracy, meritocracy, and a culture that values every individual's contribution.
  • A significant role in extending Neara’s influence among Europe’s largest utility companies to solve critical infrastructure challenges.
  • Experience engagement across multiple business units and build vital relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
