Overview

Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide personalized assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and communities in Coldwater, MS. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-on-one support by assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation, household cleaning, personal hygiene, and transportation needs.
  • Facilitate engagement in social and community events, including shopping trips and recreational activities.
  • Support clients in setting and reaching personal goals, celebrating their achievements to foster motivation.
  • Encourage autonomy, choice-making, and self-advocacy among individuals served.
  • Maintain precise documentation of assistance provided, activities completed, and progress noted.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure consistency and high quality in service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a background check and complete mandated training programs.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have dependable transportation with proof of insurance (can be primary or secondary).
  • Demonstrate the ability to work respectfully and safely within clients’ homes and community environments.
  • Exhibit compassion, reliability, and a genuine dedication to making a positive difference in others’ lives.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or autism, including familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS).
  • Knowledge of behavior support techniques such as redirection, visual cues, and modifications to the environment.
