About the Role
Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to provide personalized care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and communities in Collins, MS. Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with everyday activities including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation.
- Encourage and support participation in community and social engagements such as shopping and events.
- Aid clients in reaching their personal goals while acknowledging their achievements.
- Foster independence, personal choice, and self-advocacy for those in your care.
- Maintain precise documentation of care provided, daily activities, and client progress.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure consistent and quality support.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Clear background check and completion of required training.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation with valid insurance documentation.
- Ability to work respectfully and safely within clients’ homes and community settings.
- Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to improve lives.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or autism, including utilizing Individual Activity Support Plans and Plans of Service and Supports.
- Knowledge of foundational behavior support techniques such as redirection, visual cues, and environmental modifications.
