About Sevita and Role Overview
Sevita, through its ResCare Community Living division, has been dedicated since 1974 to empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by supporting their independence and personal growth at home and within their communities. As a Caregiver, you will engage in meaningful work that fosters individuals' development and helps them achieve greater autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals by assisting with personal hygiene.
- Help participants overcome challenges and pursue developmental goals such as budgeting, exercising, and maintaining good nutrition.
- Create and nurture strong, trusting relationships with the individuals you serve.
- Encourage and enable participants to participate in community activities and enjoy their interests.
- Address behavioral and other complex needs with patience and compassion.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: At least six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination.
- Essential skills include effective communication, adaptability, multitasking, teamwork, and time management.
- Desired personal qualities: patience, compassion, reliability, and responsibility.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
