Digital Design Lead - Water

This role is critical in shaping and advancing digital engineering capabilities across water infrastructure projects nationwide, blending direct project involvement with strategic influence on standards and practices to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Lead and support digital engineering delivery on water projects, including modelling, design, and technical contributions.
• Develop and implement consistent modelling standards, workflows, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Serve as a technical advisor on digital engineering to the Water Leadership Team.
• Drive enhancements in digital tools, systems, and processes to optimize project outcomes.
• Coach and uplift project teams' digital capabilities across New Zealand.
• Promote adoption of ISO 19650 aligned processes and practices.
• Contribute strategically to the evolution of digital engineering within the water sector.
• Support improved client outcomes through dependable and high-quality digital delivery.

Candidate Profile

• Substantial experience with digital engineering in infrastructure or water sectors, particularly proficient in Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D software.
• Demonstrated success in leading and embedding digital delivery standards, workflows, and quality practices among project teams.
• Hands-on contributor with the ability to guide and mentor colleagues.
• Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives within engineering settings.
• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement with influence at project and leadership levels.
• Passionate about innovation and continuous improvement in digital engineering methods.
• Preferably holds a tertiary qualification in Engineering or possesses equivalent professional experience.
