DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Sydney, Australia. The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing DevOps tools, and supporting infrastructure environments both cloud-based and on-premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines along with automated deployment procedures.
• Manage and support DevOps tools, system infrastructure, and application environments effectively.
• Automate processes related to building, deployment, configuration, and operations.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to enhance software delivery methods.
• Monitor system reliability, availability, and performance metrics; contribute to troubleshooting efforts.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code principles and configuration management methodologies.
• Provide operational support for cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure setups.
• Identify and promote enhancements in automation, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Assist in incident management including root cause investigation and continuous process improvements.
• Adhere to security protocols, governance standards, and change management guidelines.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar technical role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD practices, automation frameworks, and deployment technologies.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools including PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code utilities like Terraform or equivalent tools.
• Experience working with source control and DevOps environments such as Git, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
• Understanding of container technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication capabilities for effective stakeholder interaction.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver as part of a collaborative technical team.
