DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Bluebeam is focused on enhancing the construction industry by developing innovative software that streamlines building site operations, making them safer and more connected for construction and design professionals worldwide.

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to architect, automate, and scale the cloud infrastructure behind the SiteDocs platform. This role ensures dependable, automated, and secure software delivery pipelines, maintains platform availability for users, and provides engineering-led operational support for the APAC region, specifically managing platform health, incident response, and local Australian data center infrastructure during business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and release automation using tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, leveraging infrastructure as code, primarily with Terraform.
• Continuously monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security, proactively addressing alerts to prevent customer impact.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and apply improvements to enhance platform stability.
• Provide operational and on-call coverage for the APAC platform, participating in a follow-the-sun incident response schedule.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and deployment tasks to minimize operational risks and streamline releases.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and security teams across different time zones to build scalable and secure systems.
• Create and maintain documentation including infrastructure details, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to share knowledge across global teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, IT infrastructure, or cloud operations.
• At least 3 years in a dedicated DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud infrastructure role with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and infrastructure as code.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure management.
• Experienced in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Skilled with Terraform or similar tools for infrastructure as code.
• Familiar with Git version control and branching workflows.
• Sound understanding of system architecture principles for scalability and resilience.
• Able to monitor, diagnose, and optimize production environments.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Background in network architecture including virtual networks (VNets), gateways, and security configurations.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, for example Claude and GitHub Copilot.
• Understanding of SQL database management.
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400.
• Exposure to managing multi-region SaaS platforms and supporting data center infrastructure.
