DevOps Engineer - AWS & Terraform

About the Role

Join Global Payments Inc. as a DevOps Engineer within our evolving CI/CD Platform Team, located in London. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of global commerce by building and maintaining advanced cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate and manage AWS infrastructure through Terraform, adhering to infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Amazon EKS.
• Build and operate CI/CD platforms and associated tools such as GitHub Enterprise Runners, CloudBees Jenkins, and Harness.
• Oversee administration and governance of the GitHub Enterprise Cloud platform to ensure it is scalable, secure, and reliable.
• Manage enterprise GitHub runners to support development teams organization-wide.
• Provide technical advice, enablement, and consultation to software development teams utilizing the central CI/CD platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on GitHub and GitHub Copilot, advocating for best practices in AI-assisted development.
• Participate actively in an agile environment with sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives, and demos.
• Lead or contribute to project planning, scheduling, and documentation efforts.
• Present technical solutions and decision-making insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Execute additional related duties to support the platform and engineering functions.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.
• Proven expertise in GitHub Enterprise Cloud administration or strong Linux administration experience supporting production environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and Terraform for infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure management and automation.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience using Helm for Kubernetes package management and application deployment.
• Strong fundamentals in Linux troubleshooting and operational support.
• Demonstrated ability in designing, managing, or supporting automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging mechanisms for distributed cloud-native systems.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills with varied stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
