Role Summary

We are seeking an Intermediate Developer with a full-stack or backend focus to join our Enterprise Tenants and Policies team. This team designs and implements scalable features for large organizations to manage 1Password effectively. Responsibilities include developing multi-tenancy, linked accounts, policy management systems, and intuitive administrative tools. As we transition from a monolithic platform to microservices, you will contribute to the evolution of policy services spanning multiple codebases and services.

Use of AI

Our teams integrate AI thoughtfully throughout the software development lifecycle to boost efficiency while maintaining quality and security, including AI-assisted coding, user research analysis, and rapid prototyping, governed by ethical principles ensuring human oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, debug, and maintain enterprise-grade software features.
• Develop functionality that supports multi-tenancy, account linking, policy enforcement, and administration console enhancements.
• Participate in shifting architecture from monolithic applications toward modular microservices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and partner teams on authentication, authorization, and managed service components.
• Communicate technical requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Draft and review architectural and design documentation to ensure robust solutions.
• Mentor junior developers, facilitating knowledge sharing and pair programming.
• Estimate, plan, and break down tasks for effective sprint execution.
• Write comprehensive tests ensuring code quality through the full development cycle.
• Review peers’ code to maintain high standards and foster a constructive feedback culture.
• Contribute to system and process documentation to support scalability.
• Stay current with industry advancements, technologies, and development best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support and emergency response.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Node.js, Ruby, or Python.
• Strong commitment to software development best practices and high coding standards.
• Aptitude for resolving complex technical challenges with effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Passion for testing and debugging to deliver robust, maintainable code.
• Experience working with multiple services and teams to produce unified software solutions.

Desirable Additional Experience

• Involvement in DevOps alongside application development.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with microservices or distributed system architectures.
• Frontend development skills using TypeScript and React.
• Exposure to security-focused, enterprise, or administrative product environments.

Compensation and Benefits

For Canadian residents, the base salary ranges between 111000 CAD and 155000 CAD annually, complemented by competitive health and dental benefits, generous paid time off, RRSP matching, equity grants, and eligibility for incentive programs.
