Developer Advocate

Overview

This role requires a Developer Advocate based in Ireland who will engage with developers by leveraging technical knowledge, community involvement, and educational outreach. The position blends expertise in web technologies and APIs with public speaking, content development, and network building. Responsibilities include representing developer interests at various events and creating informative resources that simplify complex data and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company at conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, and industry panels to engage with the developer community.
• Seek out opportunities for speaking, sponsorship, partnerships, and community involvement aligning with strategic objectives.
• Create and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, webinars, workshops, and panel discussions tailored for developer audiences.
• Develop and sustain relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and technical advocates.
• Expand and support a network of external advocates to share experiences on web data, APIs, and developer technologies.
• Maintain active engagement with developers across social media, forums, open-source projects, and other technical spaces.
• Produce various educational content such as tutorials, demos, videos, articles, presentations, and code samples to facilitate tool adoption.
• Provide actionable solutions for challenges related to web scraping, data extraction, API usage, and web data management.
• Write technical posts for the company blog and relevant third-party outlets.
• Identify and contribute to developer and open-source communities and suggest enhancements for developer documentation.
• Create content for social channels that resonates with technical audiences.
• Investigate emerging workflows involving large language model (LLM) applications and AI agents, illustrating how web data can support AI-first solutions.
• Measure and analyze the impact of events, partnership efforts, content, and community activities to refine future initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in developer advocacy, relations, community engagement, or similar technical roles.
• Proven presence or following in relevant developer or technical communities.
• Strong grasp of web technologies, API design and usage, web scraping, and data extraction methods.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Deep interest in technologies associated with web data extraction.
• Passion for assisting developers in learning, resolving challenges, and adopting new tech.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience in technical presentations and public speaking.
• Experience in working with developer communities, social media platforms, blogging, or creating technical content.
• Community building and event hosting experience is advantageous.
• Highly self-motivated and well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Capable of independent work, while also contributing productively within a distributed team environment.
• Strong networking abilities and the talent to communicate complex technical details to diverse audiences.
• Experience or familiarity with Scrapy, headless browsers, or other web scraping tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
