Job description
Position Overview
The Demi Chef de Partie plays a vital role in preparing specialty dishes and substitute items while maintaining proper cooking practices such as regulating oven and grill temperatures. Responsibilities include managing food thawing, portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintaining accurate food logs. The role requires monitoring the quality and quantity of prepared food and supporting communication during high-volume periods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
- Manage food storage and thawing processes appropriately.
- Ensure proper portioning and garnishing of dishes.
- Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding excess food items, menu specials, and out of stock items to the Food & Beverage team.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching kitchen staff.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, safety standards, and security procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Support teamwork by fostering positive working relationships and collaborative goal achievement.
- Handle physical demands including standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School diploma or degree.
- Minimum of three years of relevant culinary work experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
