Job description

Position Overview

This role involves the preparation of special dishes and managing substitute ingredients as necessary. The candidate will regulate cooking equipment temperatures, thaw frozen foods appropriately, and ensure correct food portions, presentation, and garnishing. Maintaining detailed food logs, monitoring both the quality and quantity of production, and communicating operational needs during peak times are key responsibilities. The Demi Chef de Partie will inform the Chef about surplus ingredients to incorporate into daily specials and keep the Food & Beverage team updated on menu items, including specials and unavailable stock.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare and cook food in line with recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and checklists.
  • Prepare and arrange cold dishes as required.
  • Assist in various managerial tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating the kitchen team while modeling expected behaviors.
  • Comply with all company policies regarding safety, security, and hygiene; promptly report any maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and safeguard confidential company information.
  • Support the team by anticipating guest needs and maintaining positive workplace relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Perform physical tasks including standing, walking for long periods, bending, twisting, and lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational background from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a relevant culinary field.
  • Experience in supervision is not required for this position.
  • No specific licenses or certifications are mandated.
