As a Demi Chef de Partie at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront, you will infuse each dish with creativity, passion, and precise attention to culinary detail. Collaborating closely with your kitchen colleagues, you will ensure your section operates seamlessly while upholding premium food standards and presentation to deliver unforgettable dining moments for guests. Primary Responsibilities
- Create flavorful dishes by seasoning, cooking, and testing recipes ensuring consistent quality and appearance.
- Lead and oversee line cooks, providing guidance especially in senior chefs' absence to maintain smooth kitchen functioning.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization, preventing cross-contamination in all prep and cooking areas.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and correctly store and rotate stock to maintain food integrity.
- Assist in managing food costs to enhance gross profits and reach financial targets.
- Support and inspire kitchen team members by supervising, coaching, and fostering a constructive work atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-related regulations to safeguard staff and guest wellbeing.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Must possess full Australian working rights for at least 6 months; sponsorship is not provided.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Perth Metropolitan region without relocation assistance.
- Demonstrate ability to prepare and present dishes in accordance with Hilton culinary standards.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations within the assigned section.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness protocols.
- Maintain uniformity in preparation, presentation, and portioning of food.
- Collaborate well within the kitchen team to enhance guest dining experiences.
- Engage actively in stock management practices including rotation and reducing waste.
- Contribute ideas for kitchen operational improvements and menu enhancements.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper maintenance.
