Role Summary

As a Deli Clerk, you will slice, package, weigh, and sell various deli items such as meats and cheeses while ensuring deli displays and work areas are maintained and clean. Supporting members with product selection and providing excellent customer service are also key parts of this role.

• Receive and inspect incoming deli shipments and stock the deli cases following food safety guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and maintain overall department cleanliness.
• Understand and monitor departmental production and financial performance reports.
• Provide samples to assist member purchase decisions and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Address member concerns proactively and ensure adherence to GOLD Member Standards including greeting and engagement practices.
• Maintain accurate signage and promotional displays.
• Work predictably and with reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Prior deli department experience preferred.
• Experience operating manual or powered slicers and scales is advantageous.
• Familiarity with various deli products preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Work Environment

• This role involves frequent movement on hard surfaces with occasional bending, reaching, handling, and stooping.
• Regular lifting of items up to 50 pounds; occasionally heavier objects with assistance.
• Work is performed indoors with exposure to extreme temperatures from freezer and oven areas and use of cleaning agents.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $17.25 to $21.13 per hour. Actual pay varies based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
