Job description
Role Overview
The Debone Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks within the Debone production line on a rotating basis to maintain efficient operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Capably handle all positions within the Debone line, including breast and wing cutting, skin pulling, saw operation, product loading, and tray packing.
- Rotate through various tasks to support production as needed for smooth workflow.
- Participate actively as a team member to develop, communicate, and implement team programs and policies, ensuring coordination and adherence to best practices.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions to support cohesion on key issues such as direction, annual planning, budgeting, and policy changes.
- Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness by collaborating with the team and leadership to resolve concerns and promote synergistic action within the organization.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons' operating systems—including quality, security, workplace environment, company policies, and LEAN principles—and support these systems through responsible behavior and proactive communication of improvements.
- Perform additional duties as required in support of business objectives, encouraging creativity and flexibility beyond defined tasks.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Operate effectively in cold environments, approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Stand and move continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily, involving reaching, bending, twisting of neck and waist, fine motor manipulation, repetitive shoulder/arm/hand movements, and sensory use including vision and hearing.
- Use personal protective equipment such as waterproof footwear, gloves, aprons, hearing protection, and hair nets as mandated.
Preferred Experience
- Background in poultry or food processing industries is preferred.
- Military experience is valued and veterans are encouraged to apply.
