About The Role
This position plays an essential part in expanding company revenue by managing intricate deals and crafting standardized processes aimed at balancing efficiency and control. The role acts as a liaison between finance, sales, legal, and compliance departments to ensure product delivery aligns with client growth objectives. Daily activities involve overseeing complex deals through Configure Price Quote (CPQ) systems, contract management, and internal approval workflows. Additionally, the role includes identifying opportunities to enhance systems and workflows such as integrating approved deal structures into Salesforce, refining CPQ configurations, and contributing to operational infrastructure that supports high-volume enterprise deals for a lean team.
Responsibilities
- Manage deals through internal processes like CPQ quote generation, approval chains, and contract finalization to ensure precision and timeliness.
- Own execution of clients' deal-making procedures to enable smooth navigation of commercial workflows within internal systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop AI-driven tools that significantly scale commercial operations.
- Streamline operational procedures to minimize sales cycle bottlenecks and accelerate deal closures.
- Serve as an intermediary between Sales and support teams by maintaining contract and compliance management systems and ensuring contract terms meet corporate standards.
- Monitor high-priority deals, escalating issues requiring executive decision-making on commercial terms.
- Work with Legal teams to confirm agreements accurately capture the intended commercial terms and necessary approvals.
- Analyze deal trends to detect obstacles and recommend data-backed improvements to sales operations.
- Maintain and enhance documentation related to deals, including approval policies, pricing strategies, SKU guidelines, and process manuals.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in deal desk, sales strategy, commercial operations, or related roles, ideally within high-growth tech companies.
- Proficiency with CPQ, Salesforce (SFDC), and contract management systems, alongside a willingness to improve existing platforms.
- Strong attention to detail with a mindset geared towards continuous process improvement, especially in reducing manual or error-prone tasks.
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills demonstrated through cross-departmental collaboration.
- Robust project management capabilities managing several critical tasks concurrently.
- Proactive, decisive approach with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
- Experience working with CRM systems, CPQ tools, and platforms for contract management.
- A collaborative and problem-solving attitude focused on cross-functional partnerships.
Additional Desired Experience
- Familiarity with Salesforce and CPQ software like Nue, Apttus, or Steelbrick; contract management tools such as Ironclad or Docusign CLM.
- Background balancing operational excellence and scalable system development in project management, sales strategy, or commercial operations.
- Knowledge of deal operations in subscription or consumption-based business environments.
- Understanding of enterprise software contract terms and industry-standard commercial practices.
- Insight into AI-based business models and their specific commercial considerations.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong partnership experience working alongside Sales teams.
- Extensive experience in operational processes.
- Expertise in systems and process optimization.
- Ability to construct and implement AI-powered workflows.
