Job description
About the Role
Our client, a large, reputable organisation providing vital services to millions in NSW, is undergoing a significant infrastructure and workforce transformation. They are seeking a Dayforce Configuration Consultant to take complete ownership of their platform, focusing on scheduling, rostering, time and attendance, and pay rules within a large, intricate blue-collar workforce governed by multiple Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and Enterprise Agreements (EAs). This role offers deep, long-term technical stewardship without the need to switch clients regularly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full responsibility for the end-to-end configuration of the Dayforce platform, including scheduling, rostering, time & attendance, and pay rule engines.
- Interpret and implement requirements from various EBAs and EAs into accurate, compliant system configurations.
- Collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, and operational leadership to design, develop, test, and deploy configuration updates with minimal disruption to a 24/7 blue-collar workforce.
- Conduct root-cause analyses for configuration issues, including pay discrepancies and system defects, and lead remediation efforts.
- Manage configuration settings through Dayforce platform upgrades and releases, ensuring all EBA/EA rules remain accurately incorporated.
- Create and maintain documentation for configuration standards, workbooks, and business rules to support audits and knowledge transfer.
- Provide mentorship to internal team members and serve as the principal technical Dayforce expert within the organisation.
- Support integration points between Dayforce and finance/payroll/GL downstream systems.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable hands-on experience configuring Dayforce, including expertise in scheduling, rostering, time & attendance, and pay policy setup.
- Experience implementing configurations compliant with multiple complex industrial instruments (EBAs/EAs) within blue-collar, unionised, or shift-based settings.
- Strong stakeholder engagement ability, adept at explaining technical configurations and their impacts to operational and payroll leaders in clear, non-technical language.
- Experience in large, blue-collar, shift-driven, or unionised work environments is highly valued.
- Relevant Dayforce certifications in Workforce Management (WFM), Payroll, or Human Capital Management (HCM) modules are advantageous.
- Proven ability to handle configuration management through platform upgrades and releases.
Benefits
- Annual salary between $180,000 and $200,000 plus superannuation, reflecting a senior in-house technical role generally not offered outside consulting.
- Opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure and workforce transformation program.
- Transition from consultancy roles to owning and deeply understanding a single platform and workforce.
- Hybrid work arrangement with 2 days per week working from home, based mainly in Sydney Parramatta; interstate remote arrangements may be considered.
