Database Administrator - PostgreSQL, Observability & DBaaS

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Singapore on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database administration within large enterprise environments, preferably with exposure to financial services. This role requires strong expertise in database observability, cloud-managed databases, automation, and Linux administration.

Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over eight years of practical experience managing databases in large organizations, with deep PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Proven skills in utilizing database observability tools such as Datadog, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services and managed-database frameworks on platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficient in automation scripting using Python and Ansible; strong command over SQL and Shell scripting.
• Competent in Linux/Unix system administration, including foundational knowledge of networking and storage systems.
• Experience in handling change management and incident management via ServiceNow platform.
• Demonstrates thorough troubleshooting capabilities and effective written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle technologies such as RAC and Data Guard and Microsoft SQL Server Always On.
• Knowledge of contemporary database and lakehouse platforms including Databricks, CockroachDB, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Relevant cloud or PostgreSQL certifications.
