Agentic AI Engineer

Job Overview

This role involves developing advanced agentic developer workflows using GitHub technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in GitHub Actions at scale, including creating reusable workflows, composite actions, self-hosted runners, matrix builds, and caching techniques. Experience with GitHub Enterprise is essential, including repository and organization setup, rulesets, branch protection, GitHub Apps, and fine-grained token management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and manage agent-driven developer workflows that accept specified inputs, modify codebases, validate changes, and automatically generate pull requests.
• Work extensively with GitHub Copilot tools such as Copilot CLI, coding agents, custom instructions, and skills; alternatively, candidates with similar experience in other agent frameworks are also considered when open to working fully within GitHub ecosystems.
• Design safety mechanisms and evaluate the quality of agent-generated outputs to ensure changes are secure and suitable for reviewer assessment.
• Handle build engineering tasks across diverse technology stacks, including initializing unfamiliar builds, maintaining continuous integration processes, and managing toolchain and dependencies across multiple environments.
• Perform scripting duties primarily in Python, with additional skills in Bash and/or PowerShell scripting languages.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of GitHub Actions workflows, including reusable components and advanced features.
• Working experience with GitHub Enterprise features and administrative configurations.
• Expertise in building and maintaining automated developer workflows driven by intelligent agents.
• Competence in evaluating automated code modifications for quality and security compliance.
• Versatility in managing build systems across mixed technology environments.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and familiarity with Bash or PowerShell scripting.
