Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist I interested in areas such as Financial Fraud Detection, Sanction Screening, KYC processes, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and innovative Generative AI applications. As a Data Scientist I, you will contribute to building analytical and AI-powered solutions aimed at identifying and preventing fraudulent activities and mitigating AML risk, all while working under close mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing use cases related to fraud detection, AML, and Generative AI.
• Contribute to building and testing machine learning and Generative AI models, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze both structured and unstructured data.
• Support the training, evaluation, and deployment of machine learning models.
• Conduct experimentation with large language models for document analysis, alert summarization, and data enrichment tasks.
• Carry out assigned tasks following project plans under supervision.
• Keep abreast of industry updates concerning fraud, AML, and Generative AI trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar discipline.
• Between zero and two years of experience in data science or analytics roles.
• Fundamental understanding of machine learning concepts and familiarity with Generative AI or large language models.
• Proficiency in both SQL and Python programming languages.
• Experience with data extraction, cleaning procedures, and basic data visualization.
• Knowledge of model evaluation and feature engineering methodologies.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.
