Role Summary
The Senior Data Scientist position on the Network Value Data Science team focuses on the Credit product area within our fintech consumer network. This team supports critical objectives by providing analytics that drive product strategy, performance enhancement, and user experience improvements. You will be an analytical partner to product managers and engineers, translating complex business questions into actionable data-driven projects, supporting experiment design, and helping scale dependable reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion data-driven decision-making throughout the organization to set clear directions.
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to define problems and support product roadmaps.
- Translate ambiguous questions into clear analyses and measurable business outcomes.
- Conduct both ad-hoc and strategic analyses to identify improvements in product and business metrics.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, OKRs, and KPIs to track Credit product performance.
- Design and assess experiments to guide feature launch and iteration decisions.
- Work with data pipeline tools including dbt and Airflow, and technologies like SQL, Python, Redshift, and Databricks to build scalable analytics systems.
- Identify innovative approaches to influence key business results and stakeholder prioritization.
- Contribute to shaping product strategies and expanding the consumer network over the coming year.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years in Data Science or related data analytics roles.
- Proven track record in product data science, ideally growing early-stage or consumer-facing products.
- Experience conducting experimentation, ad-hoc analyses, and generating strategic insights in product contexts.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and metric development to drive clarity and alignment.
- Demonstrated capability to use data to improve user-facing product performance.
- Familiarity with building or collaborating on data pipelines with Airflow and dbt.
- Experience influencing product OKRs through analytical insights and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication skillset to clearly present methodologies and recommendations to diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in fintech, particularly with raw financial transaction data.
- Experience with causal inference and machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
