Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Protection Consultant to act as a strategic advisor, guiding clients on privacy governance, compliance readiness, and risk management across various sectors. This role involves leading multiple privacy initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance clients' data protection postures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain privacy and data protection programs specific to client requirements.
• Analyze clients’ data privacy controls and security setups, detect vulnerabilities, and develop clear action plans.
• Conduct privacy gap assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and compliance audits.
• Provide expert counsel on privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, the Indian DPDP Act, and other emerging international legislations.
• Create and assess privacy policies, compliance documentation, and training resources.
• Lead deployment of global security frameworks including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and NIST standards.
• Support incident response strategies, manage breach notifications, and oversee processes related to Data Subject Rights.
• Perform internal ISMS audits, risk evaluations, and documentation aligned with certification standards.
• Manage comprehensive third-party risk assessments.
• Engage collaboratively with client teams to deliver holistic privacy solutions.
• Contribute to cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) initiatives, policy development, and audit preparations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in data privacy, data protection, or cybersecurity consultancy.
• Proficiency with privacy and compliance platforms such as OneTrust and Securiti.ai, including data mapping, consent management, and assessment tools.
• In-depth knowledge of international privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
• Familiarity with information security and privacy standards like ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and NIST.
• Experience with ISMS, PIMS frameworks, and compliance with DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, UK DPA, PIPEDA, and implementing privacy tools.
• Expertise in AI Privacy Assessments, ISMS deployments, compliance projects, and effective client communication.
• Certifications such as IAPP’s CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or ISO Lead Auditor/Implementer are preferred.
• Strong communication abilities, analytical mindset, client engagement skills, and solution-oriented, collaborative approach.
