Role Overview

The Data Processing Associate is responsible for handling data immediately as it arrives, maintaining custody until it is properly named, verified, uploaded, and backed up. The company deals with terabytes of video daily across multiple simultaneous projects and shifts. Accuracy and strict adherence to protocols, including naming conventions and the two-copy rule, are critical to avoid irreversible data loss, even during late-night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all incoming data during your shift from handover through upload confirmation.
• Ingest and upload video and image files from SD cards and devices to company storage using approved stations and defined procedures.
• Consistently apply company naming conventions for files and folders (Location Number / Task Type / Employee Code) without deviation.
• Confirm upload completion and check file integrity; immediately report any missing, corrupted, or truncated files.
• Reconcile recorded hours with field team reports and flag discrepancies within the same shift.
• Enforce the two-copy rule by ensuring no footage is deleted until two verified copies exist; only authorized personnel may delete files.
• Monitor storage capacities on processing machines and cloud storage; proactively free space to avoid ingest interruptions.
• Authorize release of cleared SD cards to Logistics for formatting only after upload verification.
• Provide written shift handover reports detailing data received, upload status, pending items, and occupied machines or cards.
• Maintain comprehensive upload logs, track progress with Excel and Google Sheets, and update project documentation daily.
• Collaborate with Field Team Lead to prepare and publish thumbnails and supporting documentation in Notion.
• Manage renaming, re-checking, organizing, tallying, and drive management on project backlogs and side projects as assigned.
• Transfer processed data batches to Quality Control and assist with re-examination of disputed footage.
• Adhere to company policies on data security and confidentiality at all times.
• Escalate issues such as technical failures, storage constraints, or transfer errors to the Team Lead instead of attempting workarounds.

Eligibility Criteria

• Possess an Engineering degree.
• Have between 1 and 5 years of experience in roles like Data Processing, Data Entry, Operations, Back Office, IT Support, or BPO positions. Freshers are not eligible.

Required Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for tracking, tallying, and daily reconciliations.
• Strong computer literacy with comfort handling file systems, large data transfers, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strict discipline in file and folder naming conventions, applied consistently without errors.
• Exceptional attention to detail, maintained over entire shifts including night shifts.
• Effective written communication skills for comprehensive shift handover notes.
• Capable of meeting deadlines while managing high volumes of data.
• Process-driven mindset with stringent adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with cloud storage solutions, backup workflows, or video file formats is highly advantageous.

Work Schedule

• Five working days weekly.
• Nine hours daily (8.5 working hours plus 30 minutes break).
• Rotating shifts—Morning (approx. 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM), Evening (approx. 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM), Night (approx. 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Shift assignments depend on project needs and rotate regularly; applicants must be comfortable with rotational shifts.
• This is an office-based position located in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
