Data Privacy Officer

Role Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will manage activities related to data privacy within Doha Bank, ensuring strict adherence to policies, procedures, and relevant data privacy laws. This role supports the development and execution of the bank’s comprehensive Data Privacy Program, maintains data compliance through appropriate mechanisms, and facilitates staff training through collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute operational tasks as assigned by supervisors, ensuring compliance with local laws and Doha Bank’s internal policies and procedures.
• Assist in designing, developing, and rolling out the bank’s Data Privacy framework and program, aligned with current data privacy regulations and legislation.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to uphold compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
• Create and update data privacy policies, procedures, and notices; conduct annual reviews to maintain alignment with legal, regulatory, and organizational changes.
• Partner with relevant teams to implement data privacy policies and protocols across the organization.
• Support Privacy Champions and IT Application Managers in managing Records of Processing Activities and Data Flow Diagrams.
• Conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments on business processes and IT applications handling personal data of employees, customers, and vendors.
• Ensure that business processes and IT applications consistently comply with internal data privacy policies through coordination with respective stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• Between 5 to 8 years of professional experience in the financial services or banking sector with relevant responsibilities.
• Prior expertise in Data Privacy, Data Protection, or compliance related to data in the financial industry.
