About the Role

Join Team Global Express in Sydney as a full-time Data Entry Clerk within our busy freight operations team based in Eastern Creek, NSW. This position works Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM. The role centers on precise and timely data entry for freight manifests and documentation, ensuring smooth and safe freight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and maintain freight and manifest data.
  • Complete all types of manifesting including full-load manifests.
  • Enter manifest details when consignment notes are missing.
  • Scan and manage consignment notes and related freight documents.
  • Handle country pickup processing and manifest documentation.
  • Print required headers and LSD paperwork for daily processes.
  • Perform precise entry of Dangerous Goods information and documentation.
  • Regularly audit data entries, quickly detect and correct errors.
  • Communicate exceptions like missing labels, unreadable barcodes, or damaged freight to relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Rail and Operations departments regarding freight movement issues.
  • Manage related email communication for manifested and missed freight as well as rail transit.
  • Use two-way radios and service windows for operational communication.
  • Resolve data discrepancies swiftly to avoid outbound shipment delays.
  • Escalate major discrepancies to supervisors or customer service personnel.
  • Maintain thorough records to support audits and compliance requirements.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Keep workstation clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Report any equipment or system malfunctions and request repairs or replacements as necessary.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in data entry, administration, freight, or transportation is preferred.
  • Fast and accurate keyboarding and data entry capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and rectify data discrepancies independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple computer systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative approach to work with various internal teams.
  • Robust problem-solving ability and capability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with freight manifesting and/or Dangerous Goods documentation is advantageous.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Able to operate independently and as part of a dynamic team.
