Data Engineering Director

About the Role

A prominent large-scale organization is recruiting a Data Engineering Director to lead and shape their enterprise-wide data and AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise-wide AI-ready data strategy, including architecture and roadmap planning.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams involving Data Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, AI Governance, and Platform Engineering.
• Create reusable AI data assets such as AI data products, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and core enterprise data infrastructures.
• Design and scale advanced systems including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search technologies, context engineering, retrieval systems, and agent memory features.
• Set and enforce enterprise-wide standards for data quality, governance, security, privacy, and Responsible AI practices.
• Collaborate effectively with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable, production-ready AI data platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 15 years of leadership experience in domains like Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Software Engineering.
• Extensive expertise with AI-ready data platforms, semantic modeling, knowledge graphs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and vector databases.
• A proven track record of successfully executing enterprise-level data and AI transformation initiatives.
• Robust hands-on experience in building cloud-native data platforms and managing large-scale data products.
• Understanding of complex enterprise IT ecosystems, governance frameworks, and platform operational models.
• Exceptional ability to influence senior management and drive AI and data strategies that align with overall business objectives.
