Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our remote team based in the United Arab Emirates. This full-time position, suitable for entry-level to mid-level candidates, involves building, managing, and enhancing data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure accurate and efficient data flow for analytics and business operations.

Key Duties

• Create, maintain, and refine data pipelines and workflows.
• Aggregate, transform, and structure data from diverse sources.
• Ensure dependable data ingestion and processing operations.
• Manage databases, data warehouses, APIs, and related systems.
• Carry out data quality checks, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Support data transformation aligned with analysis and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Analysts, Engineers, IT, and business units.
• Oversee pipeline monitoring and address any data processing problems.
• Diagnose and solve issues related to data quality, consistency, and availability.
• Document technical aspects of data systems and processes.
• Assist in database design, tuning, and performance enhancements.
• Facilitate integration of internal and external data platforms.
• Implement data security and access protocols alongside IT teams.
• Automate routine data processing and reporting tasks.
• Maintain precise operational logs of data workflows.
• Explore emerging data technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to enhancing data architecture scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in data engineering, database development, software engineering, or analytics is a plus, including internships and academic projects.
• Comfortable writing SQL queries and knowledge of relational databases.
• Basic proficiency in Python or another programming language.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline mechanisms.
• Exposure to APIs, cloud platforms, data warehouses, or visualization tools is beneficial.
• Fundamental knowledge of data structures, database design, and modeling.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Detail-oriented with an eye for detecting data quality problems.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and data platforms.
• Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working autonomously and in international team settings.
• Proficient in written and spoken English communication.
• Experience within UAE or GCC regions is not mandatory.
