Role Overview
Join Followmont Transport Pty Ltd as a Data Engineer responsible for architecting, constructing, and maintaining enterprise-wide data platforms, pipelines, and integration frameworks that empower business activities and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain scalable data pipelines and transformations to facilitate analytics, reporting, automation, and application requirements.
- Develop API integrations utilizing REST services, JSON, and secure authentication methods.
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake platforms to implement data analytics solutions.
- Design and apply data warehouse architectures and modeling patterns supporting enterprise analytics needs.
- Manage data ingestion, transformation, and modeling from various source systems.
- Enhance data structures and pipelines for optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Enforce data quality controls, validation mechanisms, and governance standards.
- Contribute to automation projects using data platform tools and Power Platform capabilities.
- Provide support for Power BI datasets, semantic modeling, and reporting efficiency improvements.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries across substantial datasets.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for challenging issues relating to data, platforms, and integrations.
- Document data flows, pipelines, and dependencies clearly and thoroughly.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience in data engineering, platform integration, and analytics development.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL across multi-source, large datasets.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Snowflake, including data modeling expertise.
- Skills in designing modern data warehouse solutions following current architecture patterns.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, RESTful services, JSON formatting, and data transformation processes.
- Familiarity with Power BI for data modeling and performance tuning.
- Exposure to source control and CI/CD workflows such as Azure DevOps or Git.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Background in transport, logistics, or complex operational settings is beneficial.
