Job description

Role Overview

The Data Center Technician at CBRE is responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within critical Data Center environments, specifically focused on technical maintenance services that uphold operational integrity.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct daily inspections of Mechanical and Engineering systems along with technical equipment, executing servicing and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain environmental conditions at the site to ensure a safe working atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and carry out emergency repairs as required.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors while ensuring adherence to established company procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Notify management if subcontractors fail to meet the standards defined in the Master Service Agreement.
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance on all equipment monthly and as needed.
  • Monitor the BMS for operational and alarm signals, addressing HVAC issues reported by clients.
  • Conduct building walkthrough inspections, recording meter readings from UPS, PDU units, and various utilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults within the facility and plant infrastructure.
  • Complete assigned tasks following all prescribed procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining comprehensive maintenance documentation.
  • Undertake mandatory training to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Utilize established procedures to resolve straightforward issues under close supervision while maintaining defined standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completed technical training via apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience; a combination of education and experience will also be considered in lieu of formal diploma.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capacity to meet the demands of this role.
  • Effective communication skills suitable for internal reporting and collaboration with management and colleagues.
  • Capability to follow basic work routines and meet quality standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational abilities coupled with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Fundamental math skills for calculating percentages, discounts, and markups.
