Job description

Role Overview

Amazon operates with a strong focus on data and metrics integrity. The Data Analyst within the ICQA/Learning & Development Analytics Team has an essential role in generating unique analytical reports from dispersed data sources and providing critical insights into the root causes behind quality defects and inventory adjustments. This role supports ICQA, Learning, and Finance functions through comprehensive data and analytic assistance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop systems for data collection and effective data management.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to compile data and produce detailed reports.
  • Visualize data using charts and graphs to enhance report clarity.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards using Amazon Quicksight to aid in decision-making and in-depth analysis.
  • Automate analysis processes leveraging Python scripting capabilities.
  • Prepare and disseminate reports for business reviews including weekly, quarterly, and project-specific updates.
  • Guide leadership teams in interpreting trends and analytic outputs as necessary.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigation of defect trends and patterns.
  • Assist with manual data collection and entry when required.
  • Present analytical findings in clear, standardized reports easily digestible by stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing analytic support to ICQA and Learning teams on various projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience with strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient communication skills.
  • Capability to communicate clearly and succinctly with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end large projects, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem-solving, and recommendation presentation.
  • Understanding of business and customer requirements to translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Experience working with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and managing IAM roles/permissions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in training and deploying machine learning models for large-scale optimization problems or background in development or technical support roles.
