Role Overview and Key Responsibilities
- Daily data extraction from source systems, including PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS (RDS/Aurora) and Oracle NetSuite ERP/CRM, ensuring comprehensive and reliable data intake.
- Organize and store extracted data in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), categorizing datasets based on source, update frequency, and business area within a well-structured folder layout.
- Perform data cleansing, normalization, and modeling within the data lake environment to prepare polished datasets suitable for analysis and reporting.
- Design, create, and fine-tune interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to present insights effectively to various organizational stakeholders.
- Oversee daily data pipeline operations by monitoring extraction schedules, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining agreed-upon data freshness and availability SLAs.
- Implement rigorous data quality validation at extraction and transformation phases to guarantee accurate and trusted reporting outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from engineering, finance, operations, and leadership to translate business inquiries into actionable analytical models.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation covering data extraction processes, data models, DAX calculations, report structures, and data lineage for all underlying systems.
Additional Skills and Technologies
- Experience utilizing Python or R for statistical analysis and automating workflows.
- Familiarity with advanced data transformation tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics or Databricks.
- Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, for managing analytics-related code and workflows.
- Understanding of data governance principles and the use of data cataloging tools.
- Experience with NetSuite SuiteQL or SuiteScript to support complex data extraction requirements.
