Position Summary

The Data Analyst role is essential in delivering insightful analysis and support to both internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with legal professionals, data engineers, and developers within a small team, the analyst will enhance evidence-based decision-making throughout the organisation by producing quality analytical solutions, including reports and dashboards via tools like Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that clarify complex datasets into understandable insights.
• Utilize best practices in data visualization to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Automate repetitive reporting processes to boost efficiency and consistency.
• Examine large datasets to detect patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
• Support critical business decisions with analytical insights.
• Collaborate with business units to gather and translate reporting requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide training and support to users for effective report and dashboard utilization.
• Present findings and recommendations that influence strategic and operational choices.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency through regular cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
• Assist in enforcing data governance policies and standards.
• Document processes and methodologies to maintain transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Consistently evaluate and improve existing reports and dashboards.
• Contribute to defining reporting standards, data definitions, and governance frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX language, and visualization best practices.
• Advanced analytical capabilities for interpreting complex datasets.
• Solid SQL skills for querying and data preparation.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and effectively communicate insights.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to data quality.

Desired Skills and Attributes

• Experience with Databricks for data transformation and analytical workflows.
• Competency in creating Salesforce reports and dashboards.
• Basic knowledge of Python for data manipulation, automation, or analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Understanding of ETL tools and data-integration technologies.
• Knowledge of data modeling principles.
• Experience or familiarity with legal industry data and key metrics.
