Job description
About the Role
You will be joining a public sector R&D organization where your main responsibility is to spearhead research on large language models (LLM), focusing on the design and experimentation of fundamental model components and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives on LLM including designing experiments and exploring core model architectures and methodologies.
- Execute independent research projects, analyze experimental outcomes, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to convert low-technology readiness level (TRL) research into scalable, industry-ready solutions.
- Maintain regular updates regarding scientific progress with supervisors and research leaders to ensure project alignment.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members and actively participate in program-driven initiatives; publishing findings is supported but not compulsory.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or closely related technical disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in research & development with a focus on natural language processing (NLP) or generative AI.
- Strong expertise or keen interest in LLM components such as entity-relation extraction, prompt engineering, reasoning capabilities, and sentiment analysis.
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with generating synthetic data through generative AI technologies.
